Wedding Decor Ideas For A Romantic Barn Wedding

Romantic Barn Wedding

Romantic Barn Wedding

All usually adore a barn wedding with a rustic motif, but when romance is added, it becomes unforgettable! So let us serve as your inspiration when it comes to including that touch of rustic romance if you have your heart set on a barn wedding venue for your special day. There are many ways to include romantic décor in your wedding. From the smallest details to grand installations, the sky is the limit when decorating your barn wedding.

Elegant accents like draperies, stark white furnishings, or romantic greenery go splendidly with a classic wooden color scheme. In addition, this location offers a wealth of flexible ideas for each stage of your wedding, from farm-fresh food to dazzling save-the-dates and invitations.

There are many McKinney wedding venues to choose from, so if you’ve decided a modern white barn fête is for you, here’s how to make it the romantic barn wedding of your dreams.

How To Create A Romantic Barn Wedding

A barn wedding is unquestionably one that values and benefits from nature. Consider incorporating the surrounding natural beauty into your design if you’re thinking about how to decorate a barn for a wedding by including decor components like foliage, vegetation, and vines.

Set The Tone With Your Save-The-Dates & Invites

Pair modern barn scenes and features with contemporary style to incorporate your barn wedding venue in North Texas into your stationery design. You can also hire an artist to create a hand-drawn image of your barn venue on the invitations. What a unique way to get your guests excited!

Beautiful Lighting

Whether you’re going for a full-on rustic soiree or a romantic barn wedding reception, lighting matters. It is a crucial component that may completely change the atmosphere in your room and add warmth. Without the appropriate lighting to complement them, your barn wedding decorations would be lacking. Consider using candles in your aisles, utilizing our outdoor area under the string lights (such a Texas thang!), or enjoying your reception underneath our chandeliers from the ceiling to create a warm atmosphere.

Modern-Chic Barn Decor With Greenery

The presence of greenery can quickly turn certain features of your area into a dream. Instead of using the customary table runners, think about using colorful and luscious greenery garlands. Strings of organic olive or eucalyptus leaves can be used to distinguish your wedding tables. Candles and flowers can be hung throughout the décor as accents to add depth and texture.

Make The Space Intimate

Depending on the size of the barn, the height of the ceilings, and the number of guests, barn wedding venues can sometimes feel cavernous. Can the Cinnamon Barn feel intimate for a smaller wedding? Yes! You can transform your barn wedding venue at The Cinnamon Barn into an intimate experience.

To create an intimate setting, bring down the ceilings by hanging fabric to soften the edges. As a result, the space feels cozier, and the sound/acoustics are improved. The result is an intimate space for celebrating your romantic barn wedding.

Transform Your Barn Wedding Into A Romantic Soiree

Bring the Ceremony and Reception Inside

Sure! When you think about modern barn wedding venues in North Texas, you’ll probably assume the ceremony will be in outdoor spaces. But, it doesn’t have to be. Here’s how you transform the barn into an indoor ceremony area.

Think about lining the aisle with candles or flowers and greenery, and building a soft structure that will act as the ceremony’s main point.

We love the idea of a large altar created entirely from whimsical and romantic drapery…almost like a chuppa. But you could also create oversized floral installations as your ceremony altar. So not only is it romantic wedding decor for a barn, but it will also create a beautiful backdrop for photos.

Hosting a wedding at outdoor wedding venues in the McKinney or North Texas area doesn’t mean you have to tie the knot outside. Instead, get creative and create a wedding that’s unique to you.

Unique Seating

Barn lounge seating is a fantastic option for indoor and outdoor barn wedding ideas. Get some comfortable, soft furnishings in natural color tones for your guests for a classy yet contemporary ambiance. This will undoubtedly add the elegance you need in just the appropriate amount for your rustic venue if you’re looking for elegant barn wedding reception ideas.

Our outdoor area is a large area with a ceiling of string lights, and a beautiful water fountain…an excellent concept for cocktail hour. Your guests will definitely adore it!

Awe-Inspiring Suspensions For Barn Weddings

As part of the decor for your romantic barn wedding reception hall, encourage your guests to gaze up at the inspiring and lovely ceiling suspensions. You may design a spectacular installation with entwined flowers and tulle draped across the ceiling. Additionally, you can have LED candle chandeliers hang directly below them, giving a cozy warmth. This will give your wedding venue a romantic and cozy atmosphere.

Draped Entrance

A striking entrance will impress visitors as soon as they arrive. Keep the barn doors open and add colorful draperies to the entry. Your setting will be given a romantic makeover with little effort if a soft, flowy cloth is used.

String Lights

String lights, bistro lights, twinkle lights, cafe lights, fairy lights, whatever you want to call them, we love them! And they do wonders for transforming barn wedding venues in North Texas into romantic experiences. What’s a barn wedding without twinkle lights?

There’s a reason why barn wedding venues and other rustic wedding locations favor this lighting option. Fairy lights or exposed light bulbs are cozy and enticing, and they’ll give your home a lovely glow. Even when night falls, guests won’t want to leave your inviting venue.

Elegant Wedding Themes For Barn Weddings

Weddings with a barn theme don’t necessarily have to follow the traditional rustic style. Instead, change things up and give your barn space a sleek, contemporary feel. To give it that modern, retro air, use vintage boho centerpieces and floral arrangements in vintage vases. Include candlesticks and perhaps a neon sign while keeping your color scheme neutral.

Hedge walls are another element that can add youth to your barn wedding. Any room will be made brighter with beautiful green hedge walls.

Barn wedding venues in North Texas are like a blank canvas allowing you to design and create a wedding day that is uniquely you. Any theme you desire can be implemented at a barn wedding venue in the Texas countryside.

You may create the warm, intimate, and comfortable atmosphere that most couples prefer for their wedding with the best barn wedding decorations. More and more couples are yearning to deviate from the traditional urban wedding venues. Instead, couples want an experience that promises more versatility, nature, rustic goodness, and space away from prying eyes. A barn wedding venue in Princeton, TX, can provide all that and more.

How To Pull Off The Ultimate Barn Wedding

The ‘12 Months Before’ Plan

No truly wonderful wedding was planned overnight, and the barn wedding of your dreams is no exception. So, our first tip is to start planning at least 8-12 months in advance, especially if you want to have several customizable elements center stage on your big day.

Many details go into planning a wedding, so starting 12 months before the wedding date gives you ample time to find the perfect McKinney wedding venues, hire your vendor team, decide on the decor, and select your bridal party.

But, the first step is to decide on a budget. You won’t be able to hire any of your vendors without first determining how much you can afford to spend. So, once you set your budget, you have to select the date. After these two are locked down, it’s time to search for the best North Texas wedding venues.

A great place to start your venue search is online. Hop onto your favorite search engine and search “Wedding venues in McKinney.” Scroll through the results and view the galleries to determine which ones you think fit your style. Once you’ve selected a few, schedule a tour of the properties to meet the staff and get a feel for the layout.

When you find the best wedding venue McKinney TX – book them right away! Then work with their team to determine which services and amenities they offer and what you’ll have to outsource.

Amenities, catering, décor, and special touches all account for the budget, with some room left for unforeseen expenses or extra expenses such as professional makeup fees.

A Must-Have Guests List

Many couples prefer the privacy and relative seclusion of the countryside and a rustic wedding venue in Dallas area. Determining your guest list early in the planning stages is essential because this can affect the budget. One of the great things about barn wedding venues is they typically have lots of space, so you don’t have to worry about cutting too many people off the invite list. The Cinnamon Barn, for example, can accommodate up to 300 guests.

But, if an intimate ceremony and reception are more your style, barn venues are still a great choice. The rustic charm and details always feel cozy, so feel free to celebrate your nuptials with only your closest family and friends.

The Wedding Colors & Your Wedding Dress

When deciding on the dominant colors for your wedding decor, you can choose earthy, warm tones that will undoubtedly fit well with the scenery. But pops of vibrant colors also look incredible! But no matter which colors you choose, it will undoubtedly add to the rustic, outdoorsy, farmhouse chic effect.

The rustic barn wedding dress is a class of its own since it strives to be the best of both worlds. Your wedding dress should signify your sense of style regardless of the venue. So, we say, do you! If you want to say “I Do” in a mermaid wedding dress, do it! A black wedding dress? Why not? Or how about an all-over sparkly Cinderella gown, yes, please!

Your wedding gown is like an extension of your soul, so you should wear what you love, what makes you feel pretty and confident. But if you need a little wedding dress inspiration here, you go…Some rustic wedding favorites include ball gowns with a modern twist, strapless gowns, low-back dresses, A-line wedding dresses with lace sleeves, beautifully let-down hair, and casual hairstyles.

McKinney Wedding Venues That WOW!

Tips For A Barn Wedding Ceremony

For most barn wedding venues in Dallas, you need to check beforehand whether they host wedding ceremonies or just the reception event. Cinnamon Barn has its own wedding chapel, so you don’t have to worry about commuting from a church or register office to the venue. Make sure to properly communicate the address to guests (especially if you are sending e-vites that can end up in a spam folder), as many people may not be adept at the art of navigation for out-of-town venues.

Look into hiring a shuttle bus or a van so that the guests can return if all of them do not have their own transport. As a wedding venue in Princeton, Tx, Cinnamon Barn has a bride’s room and a groom’s room for getting ready and revising your vows before you walk down the aisle.

Consider The Weather

If you’re in love with the great outdoors and want to say “I Do” surrounded by nature, it’s always a great idea to speak with your venue staff about backup plans in case the weather turns bad. Most barn wedding venues in McKinney will have both indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces, so you just need to learn the logistics if it’s needed.

Plan For Bugs

Another item that should be considered is how to tackle pesky bugs. You can DIY some cute individual bug spray bottles as your wedding favors. Trust us; they’ll come in handy for evening events that involve the outdoors.

Getting Ready On-Site

One of the best things about rustic barn wedding venues is that they typically have a special area for you to get ready. Getting ready on-site takes away a lot of the stress of having to get to the venue. And you don’t need to worry about messing up your makeup or hairstyle on a long car ride. The Cinnamon Barn has separate bridal and groom quarters where you can do all the pre-wedding prep.

Another significant benefit of having a designated bride’s room is that you can touch up, freshen up or even change outfits before the reception if you wish with less hassle.

Food Is Where The Heart Is

Catering is intrinsically crucial for wedding venues McKinney TX, especially when people enjoy being outdoors and watching the starry sky away from the hustle and bustle of the city. While the farmhouse-chic style is elegant and luxurious and uses gorgeous centerpieces, fine cutlery, and several course meals, you can also opt for a buffet table catered locally. Barn weddings are versatile, so don’t shy away from mobile vans and food trucks offering favorite delicacies for guests to eat as they socialize and walk around the beautiful outdoor spaces of ranch wedding venues North Texas.

Having a cocktail bar and great music to vibe to is one of the best parts of an outdoor barn wedding because it is simply the right balance of intimate and yet a bit formal. Consider the staff you need for serving the drinks and snacks before the reception meal. Make sure to discuss with your barn wedding venue in Dallas to see if this is a service they provide or if you’ll have to outsource it.

Decorate The Barn Style

The best type of décor for a barn wedding in Princeton TX is one that captures and celebrates natural textures like wood, pine, acorns, wicker, twine, dried bunny tails, and seasonal flowers. Of course, you can use vintage lanterns and string lights to add a warm glow to an evening reception, but sticking to more natural décor elements like dried foliage will appear beautifully in your wedding photographs because it will capture the essence of the location and help it come through in all its glory.

Rustic wedding venues in North Texas provide a truly unforgettable wedding experience. So, if you’re looking for a venue that will WOW your guests, book a barn wedding venue! Filled with rustic charm, styled with your wedding decor, and oozing with your love, it will undoubtedly be the best day ever!

2023 Wedding Trends You’re Going To LOVE!

2023 Wedding Trends You’re Going To LOVE!

Wedding Trends! Yes, Yes, Yes! Every year brings new wedding trends, and 2023 is no different. But we’re incredibly excited about what 2023’s weddings will bring because our barn will be open, and our couples will say, “I Do.” So get your fingers and Pinterest boards ready; here are the 2023 wedding trends you will love.

You’re about to learn everything you need to know to plan the wedding of your dreams in 2023.

2022 was a year we’ll all remember as the post-pandemic wedding boom. After so many marriages in a short period of time and after a time of rigorous regulations, the traditional wedding is going to undergo its most significant change yet. Therefore, the focus of wedding trends for 2023 is on reinventing your wedding to meet your needs and provide an authentic experience for your guests.

Unique Wedding Trends In 2023 You Can’t Miss

Wedding Weekends On The Rise In 2023

No, a festival-style wedding is not only for celebrities. Perfect for intimate weddings or grand events with many out-of-town guests, we’re seeing more couples opting to skip traditional wedding venues and instead book a venue that can accommodate a weekend soiree.

How To Host A Wedding Weekend

The wedding weekend itinerary? Ease into wedding festivities with a quiet Friday surrounded by family and friends by hosting a welcome party. On day two you can have some organized games and a picnic or BBQ. Then it’s time for an unforgettable ceremony and reception on Saturday. And recover on Sunday with a brunch. What an incredible way to celebrate your love story and “I Do’s.”

Private Last Dance

We love this idea and hope it becomes the hottest 2023 wedding trend. Ask your DJ to play a song for you two as your guests prepare to leave. Thus, for the first time all day, you can see your venue empty and fully appreciate the occasion. You don’t get to spend much private time with your spouse on the wedding day, even though it is all about you. This allows you to enjoy your barn reception space for a few moments without all eyes on you!

Unique Entertainment

The entertainment you select for your wedding reception should make it a joyful and entertaining celebration of your marriage. The days of hiring a live band or DJ are long gone. Instead, couples are now choosing more original and engaging types of entertainment.

Everything from aerialists to fire dancers is on display. When choosing entertainment for your wedding, look outside the box if you want it to be genuinely memorable.

Twilight Wedding

Another exciting wedding trend in 2023 is twilight weddings. A twilight ceremony may be ideal for couples who want to create something unique and get married in the fall or winter. The backdrop for your special day can be even more stunning by how quickly the evenings grow darker. A twilight wedding is a ceremony that begins any time after 5.30 pm, skips the traditional wedding meal, and goes straight to the reception.

A twilight wedding is an attractive option if you want to remove the pressure of entertaining your wedding guests for an entire day and save money by reducing or eliminating food requirements.

2023 Wedding Venue Trends

All-Inclusive Venues

Who’s idea was it to make wedding guests commute to a second location during traditional weddings, anyway? Having a ceremony in one place and then moving to a second venue for the reception is out the window in 2023.

Instead, select a location where you can get ready, do your ceremony, take pictures, and host your reception without worrying about getting all your guests to a secondary site. Barn wedding venues in North Texas are perfect for this. They offer multiple venue spaces all in one location. So your guests can simply park once and enjoy the entire event. All-inclusive wedding venue trends in 2023 will be on the rise.

Wedding Photography Trends In 2023

Candid wedding photography has traveled far beyond mid-laugh candid shots and pre-wedding, first-look shoots. In the online world of bridal reels, destination photo shoots, and larger-than-life photograph dreams, 2023 wedding photography trends are changing at the drop of the hat.

Wedding Highlight Reels

In this day and age of ever-shrinking attention spans, compiling five-minute-long wedding highlights to share on social media is necessary! Nobody has time to watch hours of wedding celebration videos to understand what is happening. As a result, creating social media-friendly “highlight reels” of wedding ceremonies will be trendy in 2023. They’re also a great way to let people who couldn’t attend the wedding see significant moments.

Black & White

Because of their artistic worth, black and white photographs will return to fashion in 2023. Due to its simplicity and minimalism, you may express your feelings and add a little drama to turn a snapshot into a work of art. It is enduring, adaptable, undistracted, and subtle. Black & white images somehow seem to portray emotion in a way that color photographs simply cannot, whether it be nostalgia, love, grief, or yearning.

Can’t you just imagine your photographer snapping an epic black & white photograph with our majestic all-white barn as the backdrop? As the newest barn wedding venue in North Texas, The Cinnamon Barn has everything you need for the perfect 2023 wedding day.

Flash Photography

Direct flash photography is increasingly gaining favor, particularly with indoor weddings and celebrations. It makes for gorgeous photos with a glamorous edge and lends the after-party a sense of being stuck in time that is almost palpable.

We can’t wait to see our couple’s actual wedding photos and how these 2023 wedding photography trends come to life.

2023 Wedding Decor & Floral Trends

Bold and distinctive color palettes are one of the top trends we’re projecting for 2023. So say goodbye to pastel colors and the white dress. Instead, more and more couples are choosing bold color choices that perfectly capture their personalities.

If you’re organizing a wedding for 2023, don’t be scared to try some unusual color combinations. And keep in mind that since it is your wedding, anything goes.

Flower Installations

Couples tieing the knot in 2023 are looking for ways to cut the clutter. Couples are looking for flower installations instead of lots of smaller floral arrangements. A floral arch or one large flower cloud creates better wedding photo opportunities than something smaller.

There are so many astounding 2023 wedding trends that will surely steal our hearts, and we’re so excited to see them all. From distinctive color schemes to innovative new suggestions for your ceremony and reception, weddings in 2023 will be unique, unforgettable, and full of experiences.

  • Escape The City

Barn wedding locations give your wedding the destination feel without going far. The setting is perfect for the destination wedding theme, especially if the location has unique features like lakes or mountains.

For instance, The Cinnamon Barn is located minutes from Lake Lavon. A rolling green landscape completes the picture of the perfect getaway wedding location.

  • Your Love Story Fills The Space

Planning a wedding can be stressful. That’s why most soon-to-be-wed couples want the actual day to be, in a single word: RELAXED…. And barn weddings are perfect for this! They’re elegant without being overly stuffy or formal. So you can let your hair down, knock back a beer or a glass of champagne, and swap your heels for cowboy boots or sneakers. This is where memories are made.

This laid-back yet upscale vibe that barn weddings foster has everything to do with the design of their spaces. Beat the Summer Heat on Your Wedding Day

Beat the Summer Heat on Your Wedding Day

It’s the heart of summer in Texas, and we all know what that means… IT’S HOT, HOT, HOT! With the next few weeks (and maybe longer) projected in the 100-degree plus temperatures, it’s essential that you consider the protection and comfort of your guests and wedding party for your summer wedding.

Here are a few of our top hot wedding day tips:

Time of Day: For starters, you should plan to pay close attention to the time of day. Whether you are having a portion of your ceremony, cocktail hour, or even reception outside, the last thing you want is to worry about heat complications or even heat stroke with any of your guests, which can happen quickly when temperatures are as high as they are in the Texas summer.

Remember, while the sun and shade are important to consider for your event, this can also be a great idea to consider the beauty of a sun setting in your photographs. Talk to your photographer about suggested ideal times, or what they consider to be the “golden hour” for your photographs.

Wedding Party Attire and Looks: Generally bridesmaids have it a little easier in this department if the traditional bridesmaids’ dresses are selected. In contrast, finding attire for men can be challenging. From tuxedos to suits, men’s attire can be excessively hot in the summer sun. Although Texas may not be considered a typical “destination” event location, consider similar attire styles as a destination would typically require if you plan to have an outdoor ceremony in the Texas summer heat.

Beyond clothing, consider how the heat will affect hair and makeup. It’s hard enough for most brides and bridesmaids to tame their hair into a perfect, flowing ‘do. Add in heat and humidity, and long curls or waves will be disastrous. To fight frizz and humidity, ladies should try pulling part or all of their hair off their face and neck to stay cool and picture perfect.

According to Wedding Wire, here are a few tips for your wedding day makeup.

Cleanse, prime, choose products, and set.

“These four steps are key to making your summer wedding makeup last,” says Jennifer Adams of Formal Faces in Atlanta, Georgia. “For makeup, wash your face, apply a primer, use a high-quality foundation, and finish it off with a setting spray.”

Stay inside as long as possible.

“If it’s incredibly humid outside, the best thing you can do is wait inside until the very last minute,” says Jennifer. “This is especially important for your hair. Waterproof makeup really works (you can waterski in waterproof mascara!), but there is no hairstyle or hair product that will stand up to rain or humidity.” So once you’re ready to go, wait it out until it’s time to head down the aisle.

Rinse your face with cold water.

After washing your face with a cleanser, rinse with very cold water. “This will cause your pores to close up nice and tight, which will prevent them from releasing as much oil throughout the day,” says Jennifer. “Then add a light moisturizer – if you don’t moisturize at all, your face will over-produce oil!” Wait 10 minutes for the moisturizer to sink in, apply your primer, and then apply makeup on top.

Additional Refreshments: Typically refreshments aren’t served until after the ceremony, at the cocktail hour, or even reception, but if you plan to have an outdoor ceremony in the heart of the Texas summer, consider offering water bottles or other refreshments during the ceremony.

“A water station positioned near the entrance of your ceremony is a great way to welcome guests and keep them cool and comfortable. Regardless, it’s a great idea, in general, to hydrate your loved ones before the long night ahead and the cocktails to come.” – Mindy Weiss

Accessorize Your Wedding Day Look: “Parasols are picture-perfect. Capes, boleros, and wraps make great accessories for colder nights so you can dress for the heat by day. And royal wedding-style hats can keep you cool in an outdoor ceremony while looking more fashionable than functional.” – Mindy Weiss

Create Shade with Décor: Tenting and other canopy decorations can contribute to your beautiful design ambiance while also creating functionally appropriate shade for your guests for all instances that may be outside during your event.

Here are a few ideas from the team at Martha Stewart about creating additional shade at your outdoor summer wedding:

Umbrellas

Umbrellas are an affordable way to provide cover for guests who need it-plus, they can double as favors. Dark colors will always attract the sun and make it even hotter, so choose a brightly-colored umbrellas if your goal is to help guests cool down. Clear umbrellas should also be avoided, as these create a greenhouse effect. Pick one style and stick to it: You don’t want to see a bunch of random colored umbrellas in the background of your photos! Paper parasols are pretty, popular options, too. You could also set up patio umbrellas instead of individual ones that move with guests.

Tented Lounge

If you’re hoping to avoid tenting your entire wedding, consider renting a tent for just one section of the celebration, like cocktail hour or your lounge. This will ensure that there’s a spot for guests who are too warm to escape to during the party.

Leafy Greens

If you can, choose to have your ceremony and reception in spaces with a lot of greenery or trees that can offer natural shade. You’ll love how it looks in your photos, and your guests will appreciate the break from the sun if it’s unbearably hot outside.

Make the Menu Summer Fun: Get creative with your refreshments and focus on the heat instead of trying to hide it. Think about incorporating popsicles, ice cream, snow cones, or other cool treats to embrace the summer season while keeping everyone cool at the same time.

Ceremony Programs with Dual Purpose:

You can never go wrong with a fan to cool down with. Give your guests gifts for the outdoors in the form of programs shaped like fans, parasols, or even favors designed to keep them cool throughout the day and night.

Top Wedding Trends for 2022

Every year brings new and exciting wedding trends to life. 2022 is no exception. After nearly 2 years of canceled, postponed, and redesigned events to accommodate the new lifestyles during and post-pandemic, there are some surprising and down-right wild trends on the rise.

Here are a few of our favorites:

Bridgerton-Inspired Weddings.

Bridgerton is all the rage and is not only impacting design trends in the wedding world but is even being taken a step further for some, impacting interiors and more. Ever since the wildly popular series hit TV screens, people have been obsessed with the sets, drama, and costumes that make the show what it is. The vintage-style color palettes, romantic exaggerated floral, ruffles, lace, and wax seals make this trend feel like unmatched romance. Whether you’re planning an afternoon tea wedding shower, or evening ceremony and reception, a Bridgerton-inspired wedding is a gorgeous choice.

2022 wedding trends

Bridal Subscription Boxes.

2022 wedding trends

Bridal boxes are a fun new way to celebrate your engagement throughout the whole planning process. With their increasing popularity, there are a number of really great options that range from two boxes to ongoing monthly boxes throughout the average one-year engagement. One of the most popular that we saw on the market was called the Miss to Mrs. Bridal Subscription Box. This subscription service offers optional monthly or every 2 or 3-month delivery options, all based on your personal wedding date. In addition to the goodies that you find in the mail with each box, you also receive free access to their Planning Bundle, to help you along the way. Each box is packed with full-size products (not just samples). This concept is a great idea for yourself (you can also cancel anytime) or as a gift to your newly engaged friend or family member.

“Couples are leaving behind super formal, black-tie celebrations and exploring cocktail style parties, food truck parties, dance parties, everything outside of the typical wedding box,” says Jove Meyer (Jove Meyer Events).

Unusual Wedding Attire.

When we said there were some wild trends on the horizon, we weren’t kidding. Corset bodices, voluminous skirts, and bridal hoods are all expected to be big in 2022. Many brides will be mixing old and new with accessories like birdcage veils and elbow-length gloves. According to trend experts at Insider.com

We stopped by Shutterstock.com and reviewed their most frequently clicked on photos to get some to what the trending wedding stock/photography was focused on. In short, here’s what we found:

  1. Silver was trending up and gold was trending down. Silver was clicked on 140% more than gold.
  2. Pearls over diamonds! This is a new one, but pearls were clicked on 41% more than diamonds.
  3. It’s not just about the wedding dress anymore. Non-gender specific, wedding suits were trending up while gowns were trending down.
  4. Veils, veils and more veils! The veils are back and with a big punch. They were clicked on 150% more than in 2020/2021!

Rust Wedding Color Palette.

For the last couple of years, we’ve seen rust, neutral and nude color palettes making their appearance, but we’re seeing it more than ever in 2022 and we couldn’t love it more. Wondering what to pair with the rust tones to create the perfect wedding day color palette? Deer Pearl Flowers says, “A rust-hued palette adds natural richness to a wedding with shades of copper, terra cotta and orange.”

2022 wedding trends

We love the contrast with the cool sage green, fern green and cream!

2022 wedding trends

The pop of yellow and warmth creates a beautiful Sedona-like palette.

Weekday Weddings.

All rules changed after the pandemic. More people currently work from home than ever before. During 2020 and 2021 a lot of couples turned to smaller backyard ceremonies for safety purposes, which seemed to open the door to weddings any day of the week, of any shape, theme or size. Luckily, The Cinnamon Barn does offer venue booking 7 days a week, along with discounted rates for weeknight events. Learn more about our pricing options here.

Non-Traditional Floral.

From flower walls to flower arches, the unique floral trends are making a comeback in 2022. Expect to see reception areas full of gorgeous florals, from floral walls as photo backdrops to floral arches in doorways. They are a great way to sprinkle in your wedding flowers as well as a touch of color throughout your wedding reception area.

In addition to the new large floral pieces, expect to see more dried flowers incorporated into the mix. Mixing dried flowers into bouquets can create a decorative bouquet that is earthy, unique, and of course, beautiful. Adding in greenery with the dried flowers allows the florals in the arrangements to become more visible. It creates lovely contrast as centerpiece arrangements, on walls around the reception space, or even attached to outdoor gazebos.

Specialty Vendors.

Your wedding should be all about you and your soon-to-be-spouse, so go nuts! Whether you are looking for a live painter to capture your special day as it’s happening, a unique mobile bartending service, an interactive photo booth station, a coffee cart, balloon arches, or even live animals for hire (think donkey drink delivery service), the options are truly endless.

Intimate Weddings.

While the wedding boom is certainly here, and some have been waiting patiently and now ready to throw blowout events, others have opted for the intimacy that a micro-wedding creates. In most cases, an intimate wedding goes hand-in-hand with a small, private, guestlist consistency of mostly family and a few key friends, but that’s not always the case. Creating an intimate wedding isn’t always about the guestlist. The intimate feeling can also come from creating and designing key cozy spaces throughout the event that encourage connection and a feeling of closeness. Whether your guest list is 50 or 150, think about the environment and experience you’d like your guests to have. If you want to create these special moments, consider working with a rental company to create small furniture “vignettes” that guests can gather around. Think about the small details, beyond the large furniture pieces, consider adding layers of texture with rugs, additional lighting, and textiles.

Now that you know what to expect in 2022, there are also a few trends that seem to be taking a backseat from years past:

  • The bouquet and garter toss
  • Traditional wedding favors
  • Typical wedding registries filled with tangible items

Dallas Wedding Venue, The Cinnamon Barn Featured On Voyage Dallas

Prianna, the co-founder of The Cinnamon Barn, was honored to be featured with Voyage Dallas. During the interview, she was able to provide readers with a bit of background about the decision to open a wedding venue and the inspiration behind the name. Take a look at the preview below and click on the link at the bottom of this post to read the full article on Voyage!

We’ve been in the hospitality business for 17 years, actually. When my husband and I got married, we were looking for a place to have friends and family gather around for a few days and enjoy that time without being rushed.

That’s where this dream started. I thought-  why don’t we start a wedding venue in a serene setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still be close to home, right here in North Texas?

And so, we searched and searched. Then, in 2019, on a much-anticipated family vacation with our parents to Jamaica, we were golfing at the Cinnamon Hill (home of Johnny Cash-hey!), and fell in love with the lush greenery, surrounded by water. We took that as a sign, and around the same time, we found this beautiful 9-acre property with 2 natural ponds minutes away from Lake Lavon, and like they say…. the rest is history.

The Cinnamon Barn was born, and we will be officially opening our doors in January 2023 for weddings, corporate events, and family events!

How to Pick a DFW Wedding Venue – The Cinnamon Barn

So, you’re engaged! Congratulations, now it’s time to pick your DFW Wedding Venue!

Now, are you wondering where to start? How to start planning and what to look for? We can help. For most couples, picking a DFW wedding venue is the first place to start. It will likely set the tone (or fit what you’ve been dreaming about) for the style of your big day, and allow you to start to research additional vendors based on what you’ll need in the space.

Searching for a DFW Wedding Venue can be challenging! There are so many wonderful locations to select from within the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex, all created with different styles and budgets in mind. When narrowing down your list, here are a few things you should look for.

  1. Start by selecting a date (or a couple of dates that you’d be happy with). If this is a deal-breaker – this is definitely an important place to start qualifying venues and selecting them as options. To check available dates at The Cinnamon Barn, simply fill out our contact form and let us know what you’re looking for. We will be in touch in no time to tell you if the space is available.
  2. Decide whether you’ll need more than one venue. Are you looking for a venue that has designated separate spaces for the ceremony and reception? A venue only for the reception? A venue with overnight accommodations? What will accommodate all of your needs, your future spouse’s needs, and the needs of your guests? Luckily, at The Cinnamon Barn we have a number of options available to you. From an indoor-only ceremony and reception to an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception, we have it all.
  3. Determine the estimated number of guests. This too can simply rule out a number of options and save you from falling in love with a venue that doesn’t meet your needs. At The Cinnamon Barn, our maximum occupancy is 300 guests. Depending on your wants and needs, we’ll advise you to suggest the ideal guest count within these parameters.
  4. Determine your overall budget and your venue budget. Wedding budgets are all over the map, and largely determined by the venue and the number of guests you’d like to include. On average the venue typically ranges between 30-40% of the total wedding budget. To figure out what your wedding venue budget is, take your total wedding budget and multiply it by .35 – once complete, you’ll have a benchmark to know what to start looking for. The Cinnamon Barn ranges from $6000-$8500 on the weekends and varies largely depending on the month of the year. We do also offer weekday/night availability.
  5. Think about your location. Where are the majority of your guests coming from? Do you need lodging accommodations nearby?  If you are planning specific lodging, consider shuttle service to and from to truly offer your guests a stress-free experience.
  6. Determine your theme/style. For most couples, one or both of you have been dreaming about your wedding day, and what it looks like and feels like. Choosing a venue can largely determine the style of your event. When your venue search begins, decide if you’re looking for a blank slate for you to fully customize, something that already reflects your style, or somewhere in between. In most cases, couples are looking for a beautiful space that has some personality but will still allow for customizations that reflect your style and can make your dream event come to life. At The Cinnamon Barn, there is a level of elegant, approachable, sophistication that is versatile with many different color palettes and styles.
  7. Estimate the extras. As you can probably already imagine, the extras can add up quickly. It’s important when you start looking at your venue options, to look at what is included in your rental and what you’ll need to rent and hire for. Some venues include or offer an option for table rentals, partnerships with select vendors, chairs, and more. On your venue tour, be sure to ask about what is included in your rental and about our preferred vendor list. We would be happy to recommend trusted vendors who can help you bring your vision to life.
  8. Ask about the timeline. Most venues have similar rental time periods and offer additional hours upon request. Asking about this upfront will prevent you from running into delivery and clean-up time restrictions leading up to your event. At The Cinnamon Barn, we include 12 hours in your standard rental rate, but offer extended hours upon request.
  9. Look around for the perfect photo opps. No shame, go ahead look around and visualize where you’ll have your first dance photo, the cake-cutting photo, what you’ll see when you’re walking down the aisle, and where your large group shots will take place. Do you have options for indoor and outdoor photos? Keep in mind, that as weather can be unpredictable in Texas, you’ll want to make sure you’re happy with the backup option, just in case.
  10. Ask about the nitty-gritty details. Although not as fun as simply taking in the beautiful space, you’ll need to make a list of the nitty-gritty details that are important to you. Here are a few of the most common to consider:
  • What decor options are there. Are you able to bring in your own?
  • How many tables and chairs are included, if any?
  • What other rental items are recommended or allowed?
  • Is there space for small vignettes of furniture?
  • Are animals allowed on site?
  • What rules are in place concerning music (DJ’s and bands)
  • Are there additional charges for cleanup or is it included in the rental cost?
  • Is there a preferred shuttle or valet service that can be recommended?
  • Is there an option to take bridal portraits at the venue at a different time?
  • Is there a preferred (or required) vendor list for all of the other necessary vendors?
  • What is required of the additional vendors who are brought in (ie. additional insurance requirements, etc.)?
  • Is a planner recommended?
  • What is the inclement weather option if an outdoor ceremony is planned?
  • What are the alcohol and security options and/or requirements?
  • What is the rehearsal schedule/option?

COMING SOON!

The Cinnamon Barn wedding venue is currently under construction, with plans to open January 2023. That being said, we are currently accepting tours and bookings and offering a 20% hard hat discount for all weekend rentals.

The Cinnamon Barn started with an idea, how do we create a space that is beautiful and inviting where our guests can celebrate life. The Cinnamon Barn is built from the ground up with you in mind. It sits on 9+ acres and offers a reception hall, wedding couple’s rooms, outdoor veranda, outdoor seating area, a tented option and other amenities you would need to host your wedding, corporate retreats, graduation, birthday or anniversary party.

When you are selecting a wedding venue it’s important to look at the versatility and opportunities to fit your vision. With The Cinnamon Barn, you’ll have more than 9 acres of beautifully and thoughtfully designed grounds to create your dream event. Whether you are looking for a spring wedding near the fountain or courtyard, or a winter wedding under the heaters and warm romantic lights, The Cinnamon Barn has it all. Some of our favorite spaces and most recognizable places at the property are:

The Big Barn

The Big Barn can accommodate up to 300 guests with over 6200 sq. feet. The Big Barn has a 28-foot vaulted ceiling and is set with a neutral white modern timber look. The inspiration for this barn was to take the guests back to Texas’s outdoor COUNTRY roots with a southern touch. The White BARN is inspired to provide you with a natural, styled space with rooftop cupolas and appointed details, with all the modern features for your special events. Some of the features include drapery, band/DJ-specific outlets, natural string, and up lighting, heating and cooling, a full catering prep kitchen, indoor restrooms, and furniture for your guests.

The Patio, Our Courtyard, and The Outdoor Ceremony site

We have multiple outdoor locations for you to choose from.

We have created an outdoor patio area perfect for those golden hours and sunsets. This 1,000 sq. ft space is complete with southern-style outdoor furniture, a movable bar, bistro lighting, space heaters, an available sound system, sun protection with shades, and overhead fans. Our guests can enjoy hosting a small event on the veranda/patio – enjoying the sunset next to our fountain, pasture and ponds.

Next to the patio area is the Courtyard, designed for outdoor events and parties where the sounds from the fountain give your guests an elegant way to celebrate under string lighting. We have tried to create a space that allows your guests to relax and enjoy each other and get a sense of indoors and outdoors. We also offer tented options for guest counts of VARIOUS sizes.

In addition to a beautiful outdoor ceremony space next to a water fountain with ceremony chairs and a beautiful arch, the venue also includes a large white barn with a movable bar that can be set indoors and outdoors with lighting that brings the property to life. The white reception barn is a mix of boho and contemporary texas country barn styles with an indoor bar, drapes, french and wagon wheel lighting and chandelier, and a lush babies’ breath altar with room for up to 300 guests to enjoy. 6 eight-foot farm tables and 300 cross-back chairs with lace cushions are also included in the rental. A prep area for your caterers and a vendor room for your photographers, and videographers are available as well.
